Saturday and Sunday will be big planting days. Just finished the second planting day a few hours ago. Wish I had some photos to post but my hands were too busy with shovels and dirt to snap any. Luckily others are taking some good pics and I'll post them in a couple of days. If you are thinking of coming out to help, please do! If you have a shovel and work gloves all the better. The weather should be beautiful.
The award-winning poet and our friend, Dante Di Stefano, wrote a stunning poem that reflects our endeavors here in Brackney, Pennsylvania. I've posted it in a new page on the website at: http://www.wildingorchards.com/inspiration.html
Another poem of Dante's was recently published in the literary review Duende and you can check that out at http://www.duendeliterary.org/dante-distefano/ There's a bio there too.
Here's a photo I took of the Vache Normande during our trip to the cider/calvados region of Normandy. These cow produce the milk that's used to make make camembert. We often saw them grazing under big apple trees.
www.wildingorchards.com Well, it's a work in progress. To sort of honor that notion I posted plans for building a copper potstill. I found this diagram tucked away in an old trunk at my grandparents' house. I also found a recipe for making the mash for a whiskey, but I think I'll keep that one a family secret.
